Mathew Janczewski has been one of the most active independent choreographers in the Twin Cities over the past decade. He won a Walker Art Center commission two years ago to produce an evening-length work. The resulting “Ugly,” touching on the drive for physical perfection, was uneven. In this 3-Minute Egg interview, Janczewski discusses how his experiences with “Ugly” directly led to “Pop.”
